Keeping you involved

Role of the Key person
When your child starts with us, they will be assigned a "keyperson", which means that one of our practitioners in your child's room will now be the main familiar carer to your child. They will be the "key" person to plan & create experiences and opportunities for them alongside observing your child's learning journey whilst in our care. Each child's progression is recorded on Tapestry, an online journal that parents have access to via password once their child starts with us. All children also have a learning journey book which follows them through the nursery, these are taken home when they leave nursery.

The nursery holds a parent/carer evening twice annually to give parents an opportunity to spend time with the key person and talk about your child's development, it's also a great way for us to learn more about your child when they are at home.

Each Child will receive a daily care diary via Tapestry, which our practitioners complete during each session to record important information about your child (e.g. soiled nappies/mealtimes/activities). We also ensure all staff spend time with parents/carers at the end of their session to personally discuss how they have been.
